Day 4, 13:50 The first expert class riders are in the house
Some of them tried to make it up to the rooftop, but so far noone made it. The first of them are already going down the “balcony-route”.
Day 4, 13:25 Farns and Chris going down
Both of them took the hard route down, on balconies, secured by a rope around their waste, going down three floors.
Day 4, 13:25 The rooftop gets crowded
Greg Evans, Geoff Aaron and Craig Stone made it up, Geoff on his all-wheel-drive bike in best trials manor.
Day 4, 13:20 Big house party
The top guys are in the “Crazy Bikers House”, riding up the staircase to fifth floor. Frans and Graham made it up the really slippery wooden ramp to the rooftop, Chris and Gerhard decided not to risk it.
Day 4, 12:47 Chris Birch riding into the city
His only comment: “A whole new level of f***ed” He’s just glad he survived today, feeling really sick in the morning.
Day 4, 12:30 The race is run
The top 4 of today have reached the finish almost together, and unofficial, without timing confirm and GPS check, Dutchman Frans Verhoeven has won the stage, while the overall top three came in without changing the rankings:
Graham Jarvis (UK, Sherco) won the Red Bull Romaniacs 2008 at his first ever attempt and with solid riding as well as strategically perfect performance. Why navigating yourself, if you can follow a veteran Romanaics rider and superb Navigator. This is
Gerhard Forster (GER/BMW), who repeats his runner-up spot from 2007.
Chris Birch (NZL/KTM) on third also repeats his podium spot of last year.
All this unconfirmed, but still quite obvious, thanks to our field reporters and the great live-tracking tool we have.
