minitrackers

What is a minitracker ?

A minitracker is a pocket size satellite communication device that send it's location to a computer. Our monitoring team, track participants progress on accurate high definition http//:xventure.net/ offroad tours “ specialist maps.

Red Bull Romaniacs takes participants into Romanian pure enduro paradise, remote and beautiful landscapes, but this paradise can also become a lost wilderness.
The minitracker can work out of GSM range, they have full satellite coverage and they work in remote wild places where mobile phones may not.

Carrying a satellite minitracker is for participants safety - participants safety is our priority.
Participants can enjoy the World Toughest Hard Enduro Rallye knowing that the http//:xventure.net/ organizers can see where they are in “real time” and can deploy a rescue team to their exact location if they need assistance.

For Red Bull Romaniacs 2010 the participation fee includes the:

  • rental cost of a minitracker
  • all “airtime” provider cost
  • any sim cards and call fees required.
  • our dedicated software programmers
  • our http://www.xventure.net minitracker team

All participants need do is:

  • carry our minitracker in race Jacket or backpack
  •  hand it to the minitracker team each night at the riders paddock so we can recharge it !
  • take care of it to prevent damage or loss. (For details see section11 http://redbullromaniacs.com/for-riders/regulations/ caution(s) & deposit)
  • return the minitracker to us on the last day at the finish

How does a minitracker work ?

  • The minitracker's onboard GPS chip determines exact coordinates and sends location messages to the satellite system.
  • The commercial satellites relay the locations to specific satellite antennas around the world.
  • Satellite antennas and supporting equipment route the location message to the appropriate network. The location message is delivered to our http://www.xventure.net/ monitoring computer.
  • We also program the device, so if you press the “Emergency response button” it will send a message directly to the Red Bull Romaniacs HQ emergency rescue team coordinator, triggering all first aid and rescue steps necessary.

Minitracker emergency response button ?

  • This function is for use only in the event of a life threatening or other critical emergency to notify Red Bull Romaniacs HQ emergency rescue team that a participant needs assistance. Our emergency response center will take the necessary steps in extracting participants from the race track.
  • A phone call to the rescue mobile number provided should be made to provide more details.

Global Internet viewing, OUR INFAMOUS ONLINE LIVE TRACKING

  • Family, friends and fans of participants can watch their progress in real time on our online http://www.redbullromaniacs.com/start/livetracking/ system.
  • You can compare competitors progress  with the competition and watch the race chase happening minute by minute.
  • On top of that, we again will have field reporters with laptops out there, reporting and blogging in real time; allowing you to interpret the live online tracking's blinking dots with a readable history, pictures, quotes and a likeliness of racing fate and future.
  • Over 12,000 users took advantage of this great technology in 2008, and we'll keep building this feature up even more for 2010!!
  • in 2008 event one competitor from South Africa told me. "First I got an sms on my phone asking me if I was ok, the reason I got this question was puzzling me", "Then I got a phone call from my girlfriend asking me why I was back in a hotel", she had been watching my progress at home in South Africa on the computer through the online http://redbullromaniacs.com/start/livetracking/ system. I had mechanical problems so had left the course and was reporting my actions to race officials in the race HQ hotel.  She was just worried that I was injured or maybe just a little bit suspicious?
