The world of X-treme Enduro is growing by another event. The Red Bull Sea to Sky! The race will take place in the Antalya region in Turkey starting October 8th, 2011.

Red Bull and Xventure, the creators of the Red Bull Romaniacs, are now officially preparing the Red Bull Sea to Sky hard enduro competition. The first Sea to Sky event was held in 2010, organized by the local Kemer Enduro club.

Several visits by riders and organisers have already confirmed the potential of the location: Red Bull Romaniacs founder and organiser Martin “Frejn” Freinademetz: "The mountains around Kemer are very promising, the local Enduro club is extremely motivated, the authorities are supporting Enduro like other cities support football and with a long term partner like Red Bull we expect a great future for this race."

Friday, October 7th: Registration

Saturday, October 8th:
The Event starts with a 15 minute "Beach race" with a mass start along the coastline in front of the Hotels of Kemer village.
The result of the "beach race" decides the starting order for the "Forest time trial" stage in the Forests and rocks around Kemer.

Sunday, October 9th:
The race will lead from the beach all the way up to mountain Olympos (Tahtali 2.365 m).
The race track starts in a wide, dry riverbed for 8 km.
Then enters an approximately 40 km forest section of single trails, wood working trails and goat trails.
The terrain is continuously getting more difficult the higher the elevation gets.
As the track passes the tree line at an elevation of approximately 1900 meters, the bike tyres will have contact to rock surfaces only.
The finish at the peak is accessible for fans and spectators by cable car, which is also the transportation of choice, back down for the finishers.

Award ceremony and beach party, party:
We expect only 30% or less of the competitors to make it to the top of the mountain. Those who will arrive within the maximum 8 hours riding time will be awarded with a Red Bull Sea to Sky Gold medal.
Those competitors that are able to make it all the way up to the tree line at an elevation of about 1.700 m will be awarded with a Silver medal, and those competitors that make it through the river section and the first sections of the forest will receive a Bronze medal at the Sunday evening riders beach party. Those who dont get any medal, should not attend the party but start training right away for next years` Red Bull Sea to Sky ;-) !

After race riding:
As the trip to Turkey is a long one, all riders get the chance to extend their stay and join us for up to three days of guided Enduro tours with our Turkish friends and us!
Alternatively, if desired, we will provide GPS tracks for individual rides. These free of charge trips lead the riders even further into the mountains: to get a taste of the untouched nature as well as the Turkish culture and hospitality.

Non-Enduro riding friends & family or mechanics are invited to Jeep rides to the lunch spots of the competitors, using scenic mountain roads.

The location:
Kemer is located in South Turkey at the Mediterranean Sea 50 km south west of Antalya.
Kemer is a well-known tourist destination with over 500.000 hotel beds.
The area around Kemer has a strong historic background going far before Christ.
Besides relaxing on beach or hotel pools there are plenty sightseeing possibilities but the area offers also all kind of water and mountain sport activities.

The travel:
Antalya has a busy airport with many direct connection flights within Europe and several charter flight connections.
There are several connecting flights per day via Istanbul and Ankara.
If you travel by plane you may either rent a bike in Turkey or sent your bike by forwarder or with privately organized bike transport.
We are working on a bike transport from Spain to Turkey and another one from north Germany to Turkey.
You may also drive by yourself.
Expect a travel of 1 1/2 days from central Europe to Kemer.
