Sibiu, Romania. 23 March - For more than two decades, Red Bull Romaniacs has been the global benchmark for Hard Enduro competition, traditionally dominated by lightweight enduro motorcycles. In recent years, however, a new chapter has begun to unfold as large-capacity adventure motorcycles take on the same legendary terrain, bringing a fresh challenge and a new dimension to the event.

Riding powerful adventure bikes through the steep climbs, technical descents and remote mountain tracks in the Carpathian Mountains demands a completely different approach. These machines, designed primarily for long distance exploration, are now proving they are capable of tackling some of the toughest offroad conditions in the world. The challenge highlights not only the versatility and durability of modern adventure motorcycles, but also the evolving skill set of riders willing to push these larger machines far beyond their traditional limits.

Martin Freinademetz: “Red Bull Romaniacs has always been about pushing the limits of both riders and machines. Seeing adventure motorcycles take on this kind of terrain shows just how capable these bikes have become. It’s exciting to explore new possibilities and to see how the sport continues to evolve.”

By welcoming adventure motorcycles into one of the toughest offroad environments on the planet, Red Bull Romaniacs is shaping the future of adventure riding. What was once considered impossible for large, powerful machines is quickly becoming a new frontier, demonstrating that the spirit of exploration and extreme competition can go hand in hand.

The new film Adventure Unleashed 2 captures this evolution, showcasing how modern adventure motorcycles rise to the challenge and conquer the brutal terrain that defines Red Bull Romaniacs.

The new Adventure Bike category has three classes;

Ultimate Class - this class has stepped up a notch this year and will feature the toughest of terrain, fit for experts.

Core Class - the “in-between class”, new for 2026, featuring some flowy terrain but a good dose of technical terrain and classic Romaniacs up and downhill sections. Experience is required.

Lite Class - An entry level class, featuring more flowy tracks, still requiring skill as there will be a taste of some classic Romaniacs challenges, albeit less so than the other classes.

Long known as the world’s toughest Hard Enduro Rallye, Red Bull Romaniacs continues to push the limits of offroad racing while exploring new directions for the sport. Set in the rugged landscapes of Romania’s Carpathian Mountains, the event has built its reputation on testing the endurance, skill and determination of riders against some of the most demanding terrain imaginable.

Unstoppable is the Edition 23 of Red Bull Romaniacs taking place July 28 - August 1, 2026.
